And one pub stand's out particularly is the manor arms declared pub of the year In the Furness campaign for real ale pub of the year competition 2025 so get on down to see what's on offer ( subject to walking designated driver staying or living locally). Also A great local butchers that has amazing organic food and a great place to get on your bike and follow the old train route up towards coniston plus a cafe and park plus the rarity of public toilets. picturesque town square for a small town it certainly packs it all in.
Heading out west from braughton in Furness. Down the hill turning right at the traffic lights . Head up duddon valley. About 2 miles drive through picturesque landscape you will land at an amazing place to stop for a picnic and a walk. When you get their you will know. Totally unspoilt and on a sunny day it's a great place to paddle in the river. Please take your litter home and leave it as you found it for the next people who visit and for the people who live there.

Their is the beggars theatre with events and shows throughout the year with some pretty big names. Lots of local shops much more if you walk around the side streets. Hardware. shoes. Clothes. Pubs. Takeaways. Italian and Indian restaurants. Pubs. Builders yards local owned and JT Atkinson right next to Tesco a train station and a museum the green robin art gallery on st George's terrace with a collection of original artwork for sale that you won't find anywhere else . A park tennis courts rugby club A local nature reserve plus a beach. A great local friendly community and a great place to visit and live

Drive out of millom and head of to haverigg follow road signs and you will find an amazing little village with a harbour something you just wouldn't expect on the edges of the lake District peninsular coast. An unspoilt village with plenty of places to stay and a great campsite harbour lights right next to the beach that has the best home made ice cream you could ever find. Their are pods to rent caravans to purchase pitches to put up your tent and top quality washing and shower facilities the Cleanest you could ever find.haverigg has great unspoilt beaches a huge lagoon nature reserve ideal for cycling walking and bird watching. Their is the ski bar serving food and drinks. The harbour pub serving great food and drinks from it's newly fitted kitchen and a great beer garden it's a perfect way to finish your day a few drinks and something to eat next to the harbour. A short walk down main street you will find the rising sun pub serving great food and drinks it's the shortest pub crawl you can do but you can walk back and forth between the two as the evening rolls on . Their is a great traditional chippy serving good quality food take a walk around past the harbour you will find the beach cafe offering a great menu ideal for when you are on the beach in the daytime plus a well stocked shop on main street not over priced. Turn into silcroft you will see a 30 mph speed lim but it's more like a 20 mph due to the road width . Their is a pub in the village the miners arms. And a group of mixed styles all blend I seamlessly with eachother like they where deliberately built that way. Driving slowly through the village and head on to the beach plenty of free parking public toilets and a newly built beach front eatery the beach has miles of walks and a great view of the isle of man most days. You will often see horse riders . And for the experienced you can book horse riding on the 1st left as you drive into silcroft. Their s the most secluded caravan park near the beach and purchase prices are absolutely some of the lowest you could buy in Cumbria. The park is immaculate plus their is a golf course nearby . silcroft is perfect getaway retreat or a lazy day on the pebble beach.
Leaving silcroft left heading north on A595 about 1 mile you will find the Cumbrian horsebox. Serving great fresh food and quality tea and coffee all cooked daily. Great food quickly served spotless kitchen friendly team plenty of parking to take a break and enjoy the views whilst eating great food and drinks. Good food served quickly . Not fast food and card payments welcome. The Cumbrian horsebox will change your expectations of road side food outlets free coffee and tea refill on request if you finish before you head off. No more taking a chance on a tin box at the side of the road. Roadside kitchen at its best.
The Wayside is a beautifully renovated hidden gem in an idyllic, secluded location in the Western Lake District, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overlooked by the magnificent Black Combe Fell, and beach access is just a short walk away.
With a mixture of accommodation at prices that you won't find inland the wayside and whisky barn is a must place to stay. Local beaches. The brown cow for evening meal. The Cumbrian horsebox for food on the go in the daytime.
